Welcome to Ida Palene, a new VSC for the MaHeWa project !

Mahewa

She holds an engineering background in international agri-development and is currently serving as a VSC within the MaHeWa and CLIPSSA projects, where she provides support to anthropological research under the supervision of Catherine SABINOT.

Rooted in New Caledonia, with family origins on the island of Maré, her trajectory unfolds in a context where land and sea form a continuous fabric of relationships. Agricultural and fishing practices shape both social balances and economic dynamics, and sustain knowledge passed down through generations.

Within MaHeWa, and particularly Work Package 3, her work focuses on highlighting the practices, experiences, and knowledge of fishers and farmers in the South Pacific, and on supporting their transmission in a way that remains attentive to the worlds they connect and keep alive.
