WP3: Socio-economic Vulnerability of island societies

WP3, coordinated by C. Sabinot, aims to assess the vulnerability of Pacific islanders to environmental risks caused by marine heatwaves (MHWs). It examines current practices and values, analyzes the dynamics of “risk cultures,” and evaluates how future risks are considered in existing public policies. This work package encompasses three dedicated tasks.

Task 3.1. Current practices, material and immaterial values of the marine environment

Leaders: S. Blaise (LARJE, UNC, NC) et J. Wencelius (CRIOBE, CNRS, FP)

Task 3.2: Risk culture and resilience strategies of communities against MHWs

Task 3.3 Biocultural risk indicators for improving policies

Leaders: A. Comte (LEMAR, IRD, France) And A. Burgos (PALOC, IRD, France)
